The Barberi Clownfish is a member of the Tomato Complex, exhibiting a similar size, shape, and temperament as the Tomato Clownfish (A. frenatus) and the Cinnamon Clownfish, (A. melanopus).
The body is a bright orange color and the large white bar on the head lacks the black outline seen around the head bars of Tomato and Cinnamon Clownfish. Nest sizes of 500 or more are commonly seen in this species.
ORA has produced and sold this fish under the name Australian Clownfish (A. rubrocinctus) since the late 1990’s. Click here to read more about the taxonomic changes this fish has undergone since 1972.
