In the fall of 2009, while sorting through a tank of young Ocellaris clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris), several unusual fish were discovered by one of our hatchery technicians.

On very rare occassions, our Clarkii Broodstock will produce a small batch of what we call Pearl-Eye Clarkiis. These exquisite fish have Pearly-Blue eye spots that may cover either a portion or all of the superior area of the iris. Even fewer of these beauties show extra markings of white around their head bar.
The ORA Pinto Seahorse is a result of selectively breeding the Hippocampus erectus that initially showed this mutation. It is one of the hardiest varieties and it will grow to a maximum length of 7.5”.
